After years
of studying and intereste demonstarte towards various types of art, my paintings
set out their beginning with a production called "The Compositions",
a range of various paintings which metaphorically wanted to be the tombstone where
the contemporary images of our time could be sealed; from the media tycoons to
the imagesof the normal everyday life style; ironic and sharp reflections towards
the sensuality and a crisis identity, all of them realized through the expertise
of a classic work with a touch of American art from the 80s.
It is the "Trittico" (The Triptych) that set the beginning of a series
of works that initiated in 1994. Put aside this experience, my work has been currently
addressed to bring back the paintings on canvas, where there are remaining elements
of continuity if previous work; I hit the mark, the delight to reproduce the already
photographically taken works and it is compulsive for me to reproduce from the
exact same works.
The body is my main platform for the exploration and reflection; it is the protagonist
in the canvass between layers of symbolic colors or overlapping grays, and chromatic
detectors that run through the surface of the painting.
A body in despair, uncertainty: because our uncertainty derives from the uncertainty
of our being, always in the verge of having to find out we are, what we desire,
or all that we cannot be.
